Jennifer Stables is an artist in Okotoks.
Oops!! I didn't realize this was the tattoo thread and the "for my daughter" part made me think you wanted a painting for a kid.
    Completely disregard my advice!

I'm actually looking for someone to Tattoo my 1.5 year old daughter as long as I sign a release. Sounds like I have some good suggestions so far. Shes going to be the sickest toddler in daycare once we get her sleeve done

For design, nothing wrong with a dragon ever! Super time tested and traditional motif. If you are thinking Japanese and not European style, I have no issue recommending Doug Fink of Bushido Tattoo at all! That guy is probably one of the most well versed in true tradtinal Japanese tattooing in the city if not the country. He has a Japanese master he spends time studying with in Japan and his master works here with him often as well. Doug is one of the very few doing true tebori tattooing and is phenomenal, but he of course does machine work as well.

This said there are tons of top level guys who can lay in some sick Japanese work in this city. I just like Doug for the true tradition of it all and I have 3 separate tebori pieces alone from him along with a couple machine pieces. He is definitely worth a consult!
I have decided on tribal. I finally contacted Bushido but they don't do tribals

Yeah it will come down to artist interest… A lot of them these days are not as into doing tribal. They like to leave that kind of work for those that specialize in the very traditional aspects of it.

Did you check with James Jacobs at Enso Tattoo? He’s been my guy since the beginning and a very versatile artist. Can’t say specifically if he does tribals or not though.

Deano at Deadly Tattoos still bangs out great tribal work.

Looking at doing something different than black/grey and going the traditional route for a small piece. @tirebob I'm sure you know a good traditional artist? Anyone else?

I'm a little late to the party, but Max Gerchikov (@lifeofagony on insta) is great. A buddy of mine has a handful of tattoos by him.

Sticking your lower lip out all the time is a sign of dominance, not phenomenal retardation.
And I'm as dominant as a grim reaper with a nasal cavity directly inline with his eye sockets, yet below his "third eye".
Sorry I can't talk more, I gotta cut my own mullet with a steak knife.

    It's just automatic for me.
And yes, the veins on the hand cost extra, but obviously it was totally worth it.
