Default employee discount at Best Buy

I need to buy 3 TV's from Best Buy.
Wanted to see if there was anyone (or more people) on here that would be willing help with an employee discount. Im willing to give some cash for this service.

I really want the warranty for cheaper.

yeah an employee buying 3 tv's will be looked at weirdly haha. Also, the warranty would be put under their name, not sure if they could transfer warranty if they staffed it.

Ya sure that's if and only if they buy extended warranty. For manufacturers warranty you keep the original receipt.

Anyway I doubt you'll find someone to give you a discount for three TV's but good luck!

It'd be easier for the employee to sell 3 TVs at 12% margin or so (2% more than employee discount) as that would actually attract less attention than 3 TVs on a staff purchase.

Pad the sale with a shitload of high margin items... and then return them later

    LOL

they cant just change the price on the system there is no markup

a discount is another thing but for 10% off why would someone go through the hassle?

It also wouldn't help that futureshop/bestbuy district sales manager is a frequent beyond.ca user

When I worked there we could actually change the price on the items when we processed the sales.

Also, the OP isn't looking to get 10% off, staff get cost + 10% so for some items it makes a huge difference (speakers, accessories, etc)

I agree with kenny though, it's probably best not to try and get a discount using someones staff discount.

No, not really, and this is something that a lot of people just don't get. Let me bold it for everyone:

The price doesn't matter, the markup does.

So before you think you're a big shot with your high-price items, remember that the company doesn't usually care because they make peanuts off that stuff. For example, laptops maybe have an 8% markup on them - don't expect for the company to deal down for you.

So even though something like 3 TVs is respectable, it depends on the model and if it's a loss leader or not. The profit comes from the accessories and cables and stuff, which is okay. The point is, try to think from the company's point of view when trying to get a bargain. I loved it when I used to work at FS, and some Indian guy wanted to buy a $500 PC with no add-ons, service or warranty, and asked me what kind of a deal I could get him.

Oh and a small note - with a place that deals in bulk, don't think you're a big shot because you probably aren't. When I worked at MemX, I would get guys that would want 3 of something and think that they were the shit. Buddy, I'm working on a corporate order for 60 computers here, so don't get too full of yourself.
