    Exclamation Project Talonator is underway!

With winter just around the corner and lots of people getting ready to store their cars we thought it was a good time to start another project!

We are turning this 1991 AWD Talon Tsi, aka "The Talonator", into a sub-$10k WRX killer! This is not to disrespect WRXs, but we think it will be fun to take a 12 year old car and build it to show taillights to WRXs all winter Maybe we'll even meet the odd STi on the road... The goal is 275-300hp on 91 octane, good handling, decent brakes and lots of grip for slippery roads, while keeping it reliable. Of course it will look like a beater so it won't matter if it gets rocks chip, etc

Sideways in the snow...yeehaa! See you on the way to the hills!

It is under 10k cause you pay your tech with 6 month old stale power bars :

Maybe you can throw in a couple of bike lessons and then he would not be such poser.

    good luck, with the project!

Yep, I know 94 oct is now available (its about time!) but I don't believe in tuning that way. If 94 was available all over that would be fine, but as of today it is not. I prefer to tune a car that I can drive in the same state of tune anywhere, anytime and for now that means tuning for 91. If I tune it for 94 and then I drive to Jasper what am I to do...turn down the boost and mess with all the settings for the lower octane gas...no thanks! For guys who never leave the city and who don't mind driving to the S.E. corner then a 94 tune is fine...otherwise tune for 91. Lets hope Mowhawk stocks all of their stations with 94, or even better, lets have Chevron move here!

Just to clarify...the $10k INCLUDES the car. This is a budget racer, but it should still work well

Getting it spooled isn't the problem, its getting it stopped while you are standing on the accelerator to keep it spooled Finally tried left foot braking at a rallycross last year, takes some practice to do anything other than mash on the pedal
