    Default amp help

    hey...i tried helping a friend install his amp today..we connected all the wires where they should go but got no bass....power wire to the + terminal...ground wire to the chassis...remote wire and rcas to the deck...and speaker wire to the sub...does anyone know what i missed or what i could do to make it work? thanks

    what kind of amp?

    make sure your ground is grounded properly
    check the fuses on your amp too

    it was an mtx amp...the ground was grounded perfectly...all fuses were good

    Kind of a long shot here, but were the RCA's facing the correct direction? Check your gains? Speaker terminals connected to correct polarities?

    what do u mean by the rcas facing the right directions...everything else was correct

    Your RCA cables should be directional. You can't just plug whatever end in any direction. There should be some arrows on the RCA cable. Arrows point to the amp.

    Something else came to mind. Where was the RCA's connected to on the deck?? A subout or front/rear preout?? If they're connected to a front/rear preout and you have the speakers running off the deck off the regular wires, that could be the source of your problem as well (that happened to me once)
