Ya it's pretty high. But if you go into any convenience store, they have the draws you can enter to win a year's membership.....except what they do is give everyone a free month and consultation, thus paying for the winner's free year by everyone else paying for a few extra months after their free month is over. I did it 2 years ago, it was fun for a month and was a great facility (the one on fifth) but I couldn't spend that much money to keep going.
So moral = go fill out the draw, get your free month and check it out. Or even keep filling them out for free months!

there is a initiation fee but I believe it is waived off for people who work in downtown or for certain companies.
You are also allowed to go to all other world health clubs.

I'm not a fan of the one on 5th ave, the weight room is pretty much an after thought, and the equipment is new but terribly designed. I think it's for midgets.
Lots of new, good machines if all you want is cardio though

^ HAHAHHAHAAH...good for me, since I'm 5'6"...the weight room is shit though (the highest dumbell is 75 pounds) but I go cause it's 2 blocks away after work...a couple of really hot female trainers (one looks like a pornstar)....and I pay 75 bucks a month that gets me access to all WHC's in town except for Edgemont...Bay club is much nicer with lots of hot women to look at but I got sick of walking so far and having to walk through the undesirable parts of downtown....
