Right now I commute from Okotoks to downtown. I skip somerset since I know for a fact I will get parking at Canyon Meadows every morning, and the less time on the train the better (IMO). It takes 30 min to get from my place to CM station. Canyon Meadows to 4 St takes about 30 min.
Hopefully someone else can chime in for the downtown to Franklin run

Yo bro, are you from that goat Calgary car forum that get salty over lawn care, land rovers and circumcisions? That's straight fire.

My wife makes it from crossfield to work in the south in 40 minutes tops, so its not too bad. Houses here are WAY cheaper than alot of other places.

Plus if I have to goto the hospital, I bet I can get to high river quicker than most people in the city can get to the closest hospital. Not to mention that when the south hospital is done it'll be closer to okotoks than 90% of calgary.
This is off the topic but where is the new south hospital going to be built?

If they want a true small town feel, tell them to check out Langdon.

20 minutes East of the city and it has just enough services so you're not missing any essentials, but there's still no big name brands to mess up that "small town" vibe.

There's nice new homes out there that'll fit any price range.

    If she wants south

I would suggest Cayley - cute

    35-40 mins out

Nanton isn't too much farther, but that would be as far as I would want to be from calgary.

    Other towns southish

    blackie
    longview
    turner valley
    black diamond
    millarville
    priddis
    dalemead
    carseland
    aldersyde
    de winton

If you find something,.. let me know the mls # i can send you the nitty gritty on it

I'm headed out to threehills tonight for property showings; so tonight I won't be able to get any info till after midnight

It's being built in Seton, south of Auburn Bay, east of Cranston.

What's wrong with Calgary? It has a small town feel, the "city" pretty much shuts down at 9pm, everybody drives pickups, and you have to drive 20km to get anywhere interesting.

Yea stay outta Okotoks it really sucks....

It is actually really nice there, but I agree with the Urgent Care advice, avoid it, go to High River or wait. The hospital there is awesome (well the people there are, hospital is a little older). There is also south Calgary Urgent Care which is 10-15min away if it is really that big of a concern.

Not sure about the traffic as I have only seen it backed up when the train runs through... but I am on the north side so I rarely have to cross it.

Sadly being born and bred in Calgary, Okotoks is a little friendlier, but not quite that small town feel, it is growing very quickly to be more and more like Calgary, including the prices.

It is great if you like to motorcyle though, you dont have to drive through Calgary to get to some pretty fun highways.
