It's a different hole on the OS, so a revised version of the blaster worm has to be written. I've heard sporatic reports of a few clones already beginning to infect systems.Originally posted by VWbloke

Shouldn't a simple firewall prevent this? I was never effected by the original and I've never updated. I don't even have SP1 installed because I've had so many problems with it.

No, win98 is not affected. But the next vulnerability found for win98 probably won't be fixed.
