Just outta curiosity, would you rather teach junior high or senior high school? Give reasons as well.

I am a teacher and I've been in jr. high classrooms.

I guess it depends on the groups that you get. I worked with a lot of ESL kids in those classrooms (at several different schools too) and they were actually really amazing and hard working. I really enjoyed teaching them because they wanted to learn. They were respectful and were grateful that I was helping them learn the English language.

I found the hardest kids to teach at the jr. high level were the trashy ones. Way to be obvious, but it's true. They didn't want to learn--all they want to do is to experiment with drugs, drinking, smoking and sex. *shrug* They didn't care for homework, responsibility for their own behaviour...

So I guess I don't MIND jr. high. Just depends on the group that you are teaching.

Senior. JR High is one of those weird times, so shit happens. If you teach Senior high you can specialize what you teach, you can just teach like Math or Chemistry or Physics or whatever.

Senior high, at least then you could pretend like you're making a difference in somebody's life.

Yeah Leo... HS would get you in A LOT of shit.

I've always wanted to teach HS just because it's usually those teachers who impact the students lives the most, and I've always wanted to help guide people in the right direction.

Dude, high school, 18 year olds, and you can date them once they graduate.

That, and screw jr high kids, back in Jr high we gave so many teachers nervous breakdowns it was unreal.

High school kids are a lot smarter as well. I would teach high school if I had the chance.

HS. My brother teaches high school.

It's funny because he relates to the kids a little to well.. Uses the "lingo" wurd?

Anyway, one day we were at the mall looking at shirts and he saw two of his female students. They run up and HUG him. He's looking at me like look at my hands.

He says it can be pretty awkward sometimes because the students don't always treat him like a teacher but a friend. He doesn't like the money though haha.

    High School

Kids are more intelligent and you can help guide them with their future. JH high kids are useless.
