Ninjavideos - how does it work?

which is the right one, and what's necessary for?

The K-Lite is for sound. You need the "default" install but you can do the one without the player if you'd like.

still just get the "not a divx file" when trying to play vid?

Mine just says can't find file... Firefox + Vista...

I have divx, java, audio codec. Doesn't work in IE either.

Edit: NVM!! It was my java. Updated it, and it all worked out.

4.1.7 full install.

**NOTE** I had a problem with mine, and here's how I fixed it: I had to download and install Microsoft Visual Studio express, install the .NET framework version 3.5 and download a beta version of DivX. This is for VISTA only.

Check out this forum page, bullet points #14, 23, 24.

thanks for the link, it has the problem listed = 2.c.
but OMFG then try and find the right fix(s?) on that long list, and without buggering something up?
i'll try the 4.1.7 install and #14, 23, 24 as you suggested, see what happens?

wow, uninstall, reinstall, download this, download that, clear cache, search files, reset DEP, cleanup downloads folder, hidden folders, .rdf files

Stealin' shit ain't easy anymore. The tech who mods that thread is pretty good too, if you try the fixes first and they don't work.

Edit: When you go to install Visual Studio, the page is really confusing. Just scroll to the bottom, you'll see 4 downloadable files. You can DL all 4 if you want but you only need the FIRST one.

do i need visual studio for XP also?
i DLd 4.1.7, but made no difference? still "not a divx file"?
double checked dixv and java, both up to date?

According to the list, it could be your Shockwave player that's screwed. Try re-installing that.

hm? cant see shockwave listed under programs?
cant see shockwave on install/uninstall programs list either
where is it located?

edit:
have java 6, up to date
have FF ver 3.0.1
cleared FF downloads list
changed FF cache up from 50MB default

have activeX & plugin
have divx codec/converter/player/webplayer
just rebooted, opened NJhelper applet & tried again = "not a divx file"

After I downloaded Get smart... My desktop can't connect to the internet anymore! I have an IP, my DHCP is still routing, DNS is still good, I can even ping ati, google, etc... I just cant' browse anywhere... Can't even log onto msn.

I'm at work now, and I'm gonna try it a little more when I get home.
