I'm trying to convert an .avi file to mpeg1 to create a VCD. However, when I go to complete the conversion, the file size goes from 350mb to 2000+mb. This is about 60 min's of footage, so I thought I would be able to burn that to a VCD.

whats your question?
How can I burn a 70min VCD onto one CDROM?
I thought a normal 100 minute file could be burned on two VCD's.... ?
get auto GK, its on download.com, it will allow you to predetermine the size that its going to be, at a loss of quality of course, but thats how you turn dvd rips that are 2.7 gigs into 700 meg DIVX files
auto GK? I can't find anything under that name.....

As long as you're not converting to Mpeg-2 files it's free.
