Default Using SAIT wireless on NON-SAIT laptop

I heard SAIT issued laptop have some special configuration so only their laptop can use SAIT's wireless.
    Is this true?

Can personal laptop be configured so it can use SAIT's wireless?

    thanks

Ya apparently you cant use their wireless, tho you can plug into the lan ports in the Heart Building, in the study hall.

you need LEAP protocol to get into sait's system...its very difficult but possible from what i hear

That's correct, you need to have a WiFi card capable of using LEAP. Most laptops with an INTEL wifi card can do it, but here's the trick. You have to use Intel's wireless config tool, not the built in Windows one. Then you can use the same Username/Password to access your email. Use the domain ACDM (this is the default Academic domain for students) when it asks what domain you are authenticating with. Once that is done, you will have wireless no problem.

I do know though that in the EH Crandell building there RADIUS authentication server is often offline. Other than that, I have two classes in the heart building with a non-SAIT laptop working with wireless no problem.

This guy is 100% correct. I had it working on my pocket pc before but its a bitch. And half of the time their wireless doesn't work. It's a shitty set up all in all but is possible to connect a non sait laptop to their wireless. Assuming you have an account at sait.
