Best part about that is that "que" is Spanish, but schocker is right because I am mostly French

Porsche is in a unique situation where they've kept their cars close enough to their roots not to piss off any purists (though it was risky business once the last air-cooled 911 rolled off the line in favour of this new-age liquid-cooled nonsense) while still attracting new buyers to the brand.

Whatever they are doing is working, and you gotta give 'em credit.

It is just a refresh though, better handling, more features, more power, dont worry beyond, the 998 will look different.

^^ It better. I'm tired of seeing these new models when all they do is VERY minor cosmetic changes. Maybe if they stopped calling it a refresh/next generation. When I hear next generation, i expect the car to look different even to the average person. It shouldn't take a car enthusiast to stop the minor differences of a so called next generation car.

Maybe it is just a "refresh" but everyone makes it sound like a totally new generation, with the way they post spy shots and everything. The spy shots could just be a normal 911 with some tape on it.

New headlights, taillights, wheels, bumpers, engines and transmissions are minor changes for a mid-generation refresh? You're totally right, they should do radical changes like they do to the Corvette, NSX, Ferrari 3xx, VW Golf, Mustang, Elise, Esprit etc etc. Those cars all have completely radical updates all the time!

Porsche designers can't do what Toyota and Honda designers do (design whatever they want) because the 911 has an iconic style All the cars I've listed earlier have been subject to evolutionary styling changes over the years, not radical new concepts every 3 years, and yet noone seems to be giving whining about that.

Yes, these porsche refreshes are nearing complete new models with all of the changes being made. I am sure the 998 will look quite a bit different, what dont people get about refreshes, there are always spyshots of refreshes like the E90 3 series for example.

And performance # from 4.6 sec 0-60mph to 4.1 sec on base 911 .. that is quite a bit of improvement ..

Anyway .. as long as buyers dont mind the minor cosmetic changes ....

These things are pretty close to daily drivers, right? This, the Vette and the GT-R are kind of unique that way.
