Traffic Ticket PAID, but still got Late Charge letter

I got a speeding ticket for $124 on July 31, and I paid 2 weeks before court date by cash in the Cold Lake Provincial court house. Kept the receipt for a week in my wallet, and then throw it away thinking it's done.

On September 12, I get a letter in the mail saying I'm convicted in my absence and that my overdue amount due is now $148 ($124 + $24 Late Charge). Would a month time not be enough for the court house to process everything ???

I check the Website Registry and enter my Ticket Number, and it is asking for Payment ??? But I already paid !!!

Have anybody gone through this ?

i would have probably held onto the reciept....
perhaps call the court and try and get a copy of the reciept again if they have it on their records and then do maybe send it to them or something
