Default CAI or Short for the winter

I'm gonna be cleaning my filter this weekend. So while I'm at it, I was thinking I should change my CAI to short intake. Should I bother?? Anyone use CAI through the winter before?? Any problems I should be aware of??

i used mine all of last winter...got dirty as hell but the car ran fine...i cleaned it about half way through winter and again in spring when we finally got good weather....there were times when i parked in the garage and found a big snowball in the place of the filter and noticed a drop in gas milleage for obvious reasons but the engine itself was unaffected...if you are worried then just slap on the stock intake tube during blizzards or really slushy days

Hondas are generally fairly covered up...from the sound of it rice eater, is urs really exposed???? cause i know my friend uses it, and its sheilded from the snow, odd time gets mud up their, but doesnt sound like what rice_eater went threw..plus u gotta take off bumper to get to it.

Hmm, don't think snow will be an issue for me.
My filter lives in the the bumper.

    rice_eater, where's your filter located??
Also, drop in mileage, was it about the same or worse with a CAI compared to stock intake??

Doesn't matter what you use. I've used a CAI for 3.5 years now, through all weather.

well my intake actually sits down by the wheel....very low and very out of the way of any kind of heat from the engine...works amazingly well but there is a downside as you can see. The drop in gas milleage was when i took long drives through blizzards and my filter got all covered up...otherwise it is a lot better than stock...here's a link with it that shows exactly where it goes...
