Question Any good paintless dent repair shops recommended in Calgary?

My sister's (lives in Calgary) mazda 3 has a nasty ding at the top of her driver's door. The door panel has a natural crease at the top where the dent happened to hit. I don't think the paint is broken though.

She's had a repair quote from her Mazda dealership at the tune of $600. However I'm usually suspicious of dealerships when it comes to bodyshop related stuff. I think it's still worth investigating if their is a cheaper alternative for repair.

I don't know much about the limitations of paintless dent repair, but I think it might at least be worth a shot in her case.

    So who would you recommend?

    Thanks.

Tom will be brutally honest with you. If he doesn't think he can repair it to 100% brand new, he'll tell you it needs real body work.

Go to his sponsors forum, he's has PAGES AND PAGES of usefull information deatailing EXACTLY what's possible and not possibly to fix via paintness dent repair.

OP let me guess this is an 04-05 model right?

You'll get it fixed and a thief will hit it in the same spot again. Google it to find out why...

Thanks for the link. The dent on my sister's 3 looks very similar to this one (from his sponsor forum):

I'm not certain. She bought new, but it might be an 06 (or possibly even an 07... can't recall).

Google what... mazda 3 break-ins? You think the dent she has was from someone trying to break into the car? (nevermind, I found it... yikes!)

    Thanks everyone

Yea and OP you won't find me in the phone book, I don't advertise or plaster my vehicle with those big "come here, tricked ya made you look" type of decal vehicle wraps. (nothing wrong with them for companies needing general public cold calls, I just don't want people denting my ride on the purpose of being a dent guy)

I'm more stealth just using Paintless repair with dealerships but mostly chasing hail storms and using Paintless on insurance claim hailed vehicles, I know there're bound to be a couple dent guys on here lurking so it's not a secret.

Anyhow, I just want to emphasize I'm not here to "business-block" the other dent shops being on Beyond. Some (presumed lazy or jealous) competitors already tried, with the way I describe things to the public, making people realize the repairs are based all on the skilled technician (not a marketed name, nor marketed technology concept)

With that said, I'm actually telling the OP that because of my business (within Paintless removal, I chase hail storms, not renting local building fixing dings), that I'm suggesting the use of another competitor could be considered for your sister.

Like I'm more than happy to give you some online advice if you PM (or PM for my email) and send me some photos of the damage. But because I'm just a single owner/operator, this creates a shortage in avaliablity for my services, plus I'm really not trying to "block" other competitors.

I'm bias on this personal OPINION, but basically just look for shops or operations where it stresses the dent repair is purely up to the skilled technician holding the tools, not about the marketed name, marketed technology concept, etc...

It's kind of like the theory of getting call-girls... let's say. Sometimes someone would call an escort agency who lists and markets/promotes 18-19 yo, etc... but once they show up at your door it's totally different product than expected... compared with searching on Craigslist and you're dealing specifically with the independent service provider (or just with a small group of their networked friends), you know (or sense) the description of service is what you're going to get... IMO just the same with skill trades, don't be "sold" a product, but be "shown" the outcome.

But PM me if you want some advice for the time being, I can publicly say that I'm pretty busy with my primary income job within Paintless at the moment.

I would say Dent clinic depending where you are in the city... I have been to the one in CrowFoot (N.W) and they do an amazing job, but you do pay a fair bit for it... I have had every thing from a small golf ball dent taken out... right up to big dents that look like some one slid the car into a corner of a building..

Check out DNT on memorial and ask for Sasha. I just got a bunch of dings taken out yesterday and he did a really good job! Couldn't even tell they were ever there! I went in 2 weeks ago to get a quick estimate, it was $160 for the driver, passenger doors and the left quarter panel. When I picked up my car, he told me he discovered more dings on the right quarter panel and took them out free of charge. They only accept cash though. I should have tipped him, but didn't have any more cash on me at the moment..

Tomco has amazing skills, but he might be hard to get as he's pretty busy, but Canadian Dent on 114th ave and barlow(right by the deerfoot casino) does quality work too, they did my dads truck and got him in an out quick.

Yeah it works, but only really well on easily repairable dents, you would find bigger versions of those thing's in body shops, which are the only type I've used.

It's fucking Billy Mays, of course it worked....BAM!
But now that sheet metal has no structural integrity at all.......it looks good but when you push on it, it pops in and out.

Oh and like was said before.....if you repair it, they'll just keep pounding on that spot to try and get your door open.
