Filled up at Costco in Okotoks with regular in the Hemi (recommended 89) - saved $0.15/L overall compared to where I usually fill up (petro at Sundance) = ~$9

Conveniently forgot my credit card when going for coffee with a co-worker - saved $4.99

Had a training session during lunch time with lunch provided!! Saved ~$15.

    All-in-all - a good day

Necro bump (even though this is a sticky thread)

Both of the left side LED taillights on my X3 died, a very common issue due to manufacturing defect.

Dealer will only repair it by replacing the entire taillight ($515 for outside + $360 for the inside + labour).

All it takes to fix is to replace the LED driver - $5 each and 15 minutes of labor.

Foglight also got cracked by a rock. Dealer quoted $400 to replace, bought a perfect condition OEM from ebay for $130 and replaced in about 15 seconds.

    Saved $1200+

Yar, we are switching from Scotia (1.95% if you lock your cash in for a year) to EQ next week.

Wealthsimple now has savings accounts with 2.4% interest too. No fees, lock-in, no minimum balance.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

$2.99 happy meals on Wednesdays. Take your girlfriend and get two each. Dinner for two under $12 is a win.

CIBC & Simplii are running 2.75% & 2.8% on their savings accounts right now. It's just a "promo" rate for new money that's been running since about October (I think) but they seem to do this once or twice per year. What's the appeal of EQ Bank?

Small steps can lead to big savings. I've been making coffee at home instead of buying it, and that's saved me around $30 a week. It's surprising how these little changes can add up over time.
