apparently GM and Chrysler are in talks about a possible merger... this could be HUGE for the auto industry if it goes through

Only Dodge and Jeep brand worth something. Sad and may be a lot of people/dealer will be out of work/business but probably a necessary evil.
Both are struggling to make ends meet. A merger would help in the long-run, but the inital merger would be crazy.
Hell, throw Ford in there too. They're weak.

Probably better.Originally posted by gpomp
will this be as good as the daimler chrysler merger?
GM understand the territory better and they are not looking for expansion but increase revenue and reduce the cost.
This would be the end of both
What would they call themselves?
lol.. What was that company that had the most unreliable cars and involved chrysler? ... oh yea. DSM.
If an american and japanese company joint venture made crap, imagine what 2 american companies will make.
apparently two wrongs make a right

Merging will only be a BAD THING. Cause there will be a lot of job cuts... especially in the admin area and possibly manufacturing area.
Well either they merge and cut jobs or cut capacity and jobs.

+1 for General Mopar.
Shit they even have their spokesman worked out, some dude in military fatigues
Cos...
What happened to the whole Chrysler and Nissan talks? I thought they were going to partner up on some stuff?
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength.
Nissan just wants the cummins deisel transmission plans for the spec-V .
Edit: I don't forsee this merger going thru, nothing good could really come of it. If it does happen, it's because one or both parties simply can't afford to continue operations anymore.

As for the GENERAL MOPAR plan, it might actually work. It will piss off ALOT of Mopar monkeys. Which is always a good thing.

And all it'll do is delay the inevitable.

I think this would be a terrible idea, bigger organizations are much more difficult to turn around as well.Originally posted by rage2
