Looks nice, but wouldnt this remove the need for the Z4 coupe then, which was a wicked little car?
yeah .. no more M coupe or Z4 coupe .. getting more and more rare .. and the M coupe is still the best driving BMW can buy today ... ( and the 135i )
The 335i turbo in this new Z4 would be awesome!!

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
I am still not a big fan for those retractable hardtop ..
Well .. unless they can make them lighter .. otherwise .. extra 200lbs over softtop convertible .. is not a good thing .. at least, not for sports car ..
Look at the new M3 cab .. over 4,000 lbs .. 4.5 sec 0-60mpg .. 0.4 sec slower then the M3 coupe .. and 2mpg worse then the coupe ....
May be not that much heavier for a 2 seater roadster ..
(however heavy is the Ferrari california ?)

Any idea how much the weight increases by? Hopefully, performance doesn't decrease.
Just for comparison, 328i cab is 200kg heavier than coupe.
But taking into account that there is no back seat to worry about on the Z4, I'm sure it can be done for less.
I welcome hard top, make it a year round car in places like Calgary.
Soft tops KILL the lines of EVERY car. They are an afterthought and are quite ugly.
Want convertible? Hard top is the Male way to go....otherwise enjoy your bedazzled pink BB pearl, Nancy!
^^^^Said like a pro.
Don't complain about an extra 200lbs. Thats the weight of a passenger and some golf clubs. Are you seriously that in tune with your care that ever ounce matters? Sure under track simulated conditions this will matter, but in most cases you are not.
And not to mentioned that soft tops look like shit when the top is up. You have to have A LOT of sacrifices with a soft top, such as rattles, squeeks, and just plain ugliness. The only way to tolerate a soft top is to have it down. Hard top is a happy compromise.
Love it
Not a fan of the retractable hard top.
With only 3 years of manufacturing and low production numbers means the coupe will remain a rare care.
