My opinion is smaller is better. At home you can always hook it up to a bigger monitor, but I never do. I have a 13.3 and but I agree its a heavy ass laptop. the 13.3" screen is normal to me now, in fact I wish I had a smaller one.

fk i've always wanted to try mac for gaming but i just bought a Toshiba Qosmio, that Pro w/ 9600m GT looks tempting, see how it does with Far Cry 2.

i know about the commercials for the 2 OS's, but can anyone enlighten on how much more efficient or problematic Mac OS is than Vista (or even XP for that matter) ( fken Vista, i would gladly revert to XP anyday)

edit: also what's the learning curve to use Mac as fluently as windows, lol the last Mac i used was in grade 4 to play Oregon Trail in green graphics

You can always dual-boot. You just need to partition the HDD.

And as long as you have enough memory, Vista runs fine.

As for the learning curve, it's pretty easy IMO. I haven't played with one in a while, but it seems pretty simple just watching my buddy use his. Computer illiterate people seem to do just fine with it, so if you can figure how to use a forum, your probably a step ahead. You just need to get used to the different menu's and such.

Macs are easy and my trusty MBP runs XP better than any Laptop Ive ever had. Dual boot, or vmware its just a joy to use!

Apparently the new Macbooks have sensors in them that can tell Apple if your macbook got wet.

Oregon Trail!! Hahah, we just stumbled across an OSX version a few months ago after spotting it in a flea market, so we bought it! Surprisingly, brand new and in an immaculate sealed box still. We had no idea it still existed, heh.

if you were using a computer for everyday use (like for school, to play games, watch movies etc..) what is more important, a faster processor (2.0 vs 2.4GHz) or having more Ram. On apple's site you can upgrade from 2Gb of ram to 4Gb.

    advice?

I find the look of the new macbook kinda ugly... I much rather perfer pure white or Black or any other solid color...

The piano black mirror border doesn't really appeal to me..

Depending on the use, I would say more Ram... more apps. But honestly if you deciding to go with a faster processor vs more ram, I would go with the processor. It's always easier to upgrade the RAM later on (in most laptops, not 100% sure about the Mac's)

Here says it's $1,449. Maybe it's an education/refurbished combination to get it to $1,349.
