So, today I missed an early morning lecture due to an accident. (U of C btw)
Fortunately, I wasn't involved. It just happened in front of me. The road was obstructed. Police, ambulance, and firemen came very quickly to do their thing.
All in all, it took the better part of an hour.
That delay, led to another that instead of being consistently ten minutes early, I was forty minutes late that I just didn't bother going.
Just as well, people were already heading out one by one when I got there. When I asked them if any important information that is not within the textbook lecture was given out, I was told no. Lucky me.
So this got me thinking:
What if this had been an exam?
What if again, someone gets into an accident on the route I usually take, blocks it for hours on end, and I get delayed and completely miss the exam?
I know in cases of sickness, accident, injury or other personal matters I can appeal for a reschedule.
But what about in this case where some other unlucky individual causes me to be late? I can't prove there was even an accident at all, seeing as I wasn't involved.
What do I do then?
