Default Deciding between RockBand2 and Guitar Hero: WT

So I need to buy the bundle for one of these games, so that I can play. I'll be using my Xbox360. What I need to know is, can the intruments from one game be used on the other? That way I can buy the bundle for one, and the disc for the other.

yes the instruments are interchangeable minus the drums. World tour has the cymbals. Rock band does not

Isn't rock band capable of using the symbols, hence the creation of the ION kit?

Good to know. I'm not very good on the drums, so not a biggie to me. Thanks.

*edit* sk8r3124 replied while I was typing the above. That's a good point. Maybe buying the GH:WT kit and the RB2 disc is the way to go. Or the RB2/GH guru rage2 will respond.

I'm not sure how it's going to work because orange on RB is the pedal while on GH it's a pad. I'm going to wait for others to pick up GH and try it all out before I decide whether to buy the kit or just the game. I need a new kit anyway, I just need to know whether to get a RB or GH kit. Or both. Fuck.

See Mibz, you're right where I am. Except I don't have a kit yet. Another thing to consider is how many people are going to be playing both online, how the DL content is going to be for each game and so forth. From what I understand, RB owned the DL content for the first game, meaning they had a ton of stuff. I know that GH3 sucked for DL content. Have the makers of GH:WT said anything about DL content?

Thanks for posting the matrix charts. That says that the drums from one will be compatible with the other. I think I'm going with the RB2 kit, and pick up the GH:WT disc later. I just think that RB has it down, including all the DL content.

The GHWT Track list is way better than RB2.
Unless you've downloaded tons of content for RB...I really wouldn't bother with RB2.

Best idea, buy GHWT set, and then RB2 disc.

GH: WT, buy the RB2 disc after, the drums are much better fot WT. Velocity sensitive is a must if you want to play the music creator parts.

Apparently Activision recently hired 2,000 (Yes, two thousand) people to work on DLC for GH:WT. That's a lot of fucking people. Harmonix has something like 150 in their entire operation.

I'll probably end up buying the GH drums as long as I can plug in the RB pedals.

I think Rock Band 2 has the better track list. But Guitar Hero has the better feeling guitars

I honestly think it's worth it to buy one set of instruments and ALL the games. Especially when you can buy RB2 and then rent RB1 to get all the songs off it.

just picked up GHWT, so far very good. the way the songs are unlocked is mixed up a bit (play 3/4 song sets instead of choosing each song).

First song on the first set, Livin' on a Prayer..

Not terribly interested in RB2, as it doesn't really offer anything new (besides the songs of course) and i liked the GH track list more. But i'll probably put in on my xmas list for this year.

I refuse to play Rock Band because of the lame guitar, so the choice is a pretty easy one for me.
