Default The Realities of War, and Solution

this is a poem written by my best friend. She got some talent, anyways she said i could post it here and maybe get some feed back.

The Realities of War, and Solution

    Before killing each other,
    They prayed,
Each of them in there dismay,
Would they see their mother once again?
    Small matters of human power,
    Makes you want to shower,
    Cleanse yourself,
    Of these sins,
    The guilt,
    The shame,
Of even saying your own name,
    For fear of remembering…
    Those memories,
    Of your friends dying,
    Your best friend crying,
Can’t do it, can’t do it,
    You want to cry,
    But the tears won’t come,
    Their covered with this shear,
    Covering your heart,
With this spear of hate drilling into you,
For wanting to do your part,
But you say you had to protect your family,
But really you just wanted to parade,
    Oh so grandly,
    To be a hero,
To be part of the show,
    How could you not know?
    The reality,
    The dangers,
    Of losing your life,
    Your innocence,
    And your mind,
You feel as though you’re on an endless track,
    A cycle,
    Never ending,
All depending on how long you can take this,
    Insanity,
    There’s no solution you think,
Still praying for you to accomplish,
    Your commission,
    But you say to yourself,
    Is this the solution?
    And it hits you,
What your doing makes no difference,
    It won’t change the world,
    It won’t heal the sick,
    Change the wicked,
    Or even obtain peace,
    So while you’re thinking,
    As well as praying,
    Bullets are Ricocheting,
    Bombs going off,
    Everyone is lost,
    And you tell yourself…
    “War doesn’t accomplish anything”
    Look at me,
And you well see as I lay here,
Slain by someone just like me,
Was praying the exact same theme,
And we both end the same,
    In sleeping death,
    With no recognition,
And no longer are led into a hateful submission,
They died praying for a better world,
    Holding fast the argument,
That this war with humanity cannot last.

Good poem, good train of thought and good interpretation. I think it's kind of unclear in reference to the point you are trying to get across. Don't get me wrong I completely agree that poetry is a direct display of personal thoughts and feelings but I this poem left me kind of confused. I had to go back and read certain sections of it a few times to understand what message is being portrayed. Know what I mean? It seems to jumps from one line to another without really tieing it all together and flowing.
