    Default My mouse wont work!

I have been having issues with my mouse for a few days and could figure it out. It works periodically and then stops working and I would have to unplug the USB receiver and then plug it back in to make the mouse work. It is a MX1000 wireless mouse. My BT keyboard was acting up too, so I just switched to a PS/2 keyboard. So since my computer was a bit fucked, I decided to reformat it last night.

After the reformat, my wired PS/2 keyboard works fine, but the wireless mouse refuses to work!! I have reformatted my computer before with this wireless mouse and it works right away before even installing any specific drivers. So I then thought my mouse broke or something, so I plugged in a wired USB mouse. Still doesn't work!! I tried it in every single USB port on my computer and the mouse will light up, but won't work. I tried uninstalling from the device manager too, and still no worky. Restarted the computer a thousand times!!

This is insanely frustrating as I have never had to deal with this ever before. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you think it could be my motherboard acting up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

You got haxed, should've updated to SP3. Just kidding... maybe...

So your MX's bluetooth receiver shows up in Device Manager? As what? Driver status? Yeah it could be motherboard or power supply if even wired mice aren't working... Try booting a Linux livecd like Ubuntu or Knoppix, see if it works there?

Try deleting it from device manager and not just uninstalling it. Also make sure it's enabled in the bios and enable it in windows to discover new hardware.

Try ProcessExplorer and see if the USBPORT.SYS is using 90 to 100 percent of the CPU.

^What is ProcessExplorer and how do I use it?

So I tried to install it under "add hardware wizard", and it appears as USB Human Interface Device, but it then doesn't install it and gives me the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

are you running wireless internet at all? cuz the wireless waves run on the same frequency as the bluetooth, and it is probably interfering with each other.
so if you are running wireless change it to run on a different wireless channel and see if that fixes the problem.

there's a conflict in the signal as d4ftpuNK suggested. Go into the list of what devices you have connected. Either clean it up or remove everything and reconnect them.

Thanks, so I guess that solves my bluetooth issues.

My USB ports still don't work for my mouse and for the bluetooth receiver though! Thumb drives and everything else work tho...
