I was merely joking. Plus, according to the article: "CFIA officials acknowledged finding a mouse in cheese has a very high "ick" factor, but said it is not likely to cause any health problems."

Well at least it died in something they love to eat . A hell of a lot better then getting killed by poison or a mouse trap anyways.

Not surprising. I had a hell of a time finding a grocery store in New York where I wasn't stepping on mice.

It was a mouse...I wouldn't bat an eye...

I mean come on, cheese, mouse...its like peanut butter and jelly they go together.

Now, if it was a spider, or maggots...then I would have a problem...

I know its been a while since I went to school, but when did "ick" become a unit of measure?

CFIA officials acknowledged finding a mouse in cheese has a very high "ick" factor, but said it is not likely to cause any health problems.

    Are you for real?

    Signaling unusual usage
Quotation marks are also used to indicate that the writer realizes that a word is not being used in its current commonly-accepted sense.

In the fifteenth century, we “knew” that the Sun’s revolution divided day from night.
Woody Allen joked, “I’m astounded by people who want to ‘know’ the universe when it’s hard enough to find your way around Chinatown.”
In addition to conveying a neutral attitude and to call attention to a neologism or a slang or special terminology (also known as jargon), quoting can also indicate words or phrases that are descriptive but unusual, colloquial, folksy, startling, humorous, or metaphoric
