Default To super snake or not to super snake, that is the question

'Stock' hood scoop - gives it a bit of an aggressive edge, but for the most part remains quite subtle

Super snake hood scoop - says comes fvck with me, I dare you

Is the super snake just too over the top though?

Does your cobra have a ridiculous 800hp or whatever the original supersnakes had? If so then sure. If not. Keep it clean. Your choice tho

The SS's had a the different hood due to the plumbing required for the Paxtons, it really wasn't a cosmetic thing.

If you car is a car that you drive around the city and it has 700 hps then you should really do the super snake. It really does say don't bother fucking with me and atleast backs it up. If it was a 200 hp 4 banger and it had an obnoxious scoop, then I would say no don't put it on but I think that the big scoop looks mean and matches its output.

Yea, that was one crazy setup, especially for back then!

I wonder if I can get away rationalizing that my air cleaner may have problems with clearance on the stock size scoop, so therefore I need a really obnoxious one

it doesn't really matter what hood you put on because if your car is pumping out 700hp it's not gonna sound friendly and i doubt people are gonna fuck with you anyways. if thats the car you're putting it on then i'd say super snake, i don't think you're after the subtle sleeper look are you?

Stock looks way cleaner, and it retains the smooth lines of the car, the aftermarket one ruins it.

I like the super snake one. If you're not starting with an original car anyways, who gives a shit if it's not 100% authentic

Its tough to go by those photos because its hard to get past the fact that it's unpainted and not striped. If that car was properly finished, detailed, and photographed better I bet it would look pretty badass.

Another thought I've been investigated is the ERA raised hood scoop.

I can't find any painted pics of it, but it's basically a medium between the super snake and the stockish design.

    Hmmmm

    ^That's not terrible.

    The Supersnake is.
    So don't do that.

Stock still looks best, IMHO. But if you aren't going to fit, that ERA one is a billion times better than the Supersnake.

Unless you need that big scoop to grab extra air, stick with the stock. Looks way better.
