Default BMW E46 window regulators (repair price, shop recommendations?)

I'm in the process of picking up an E46 Sedan and I think one window is beginning to crap out.

I've heard that window regulators going out are very common and was wondering how much it would cost to get that fixed?

Anyone know any good independant (non stealerships) shops that can take care of that?

I've heard they can go for $1000 I hope that's not the case because well that can quite frankly go towards my new wheels fund haha

    Thanks!

yeah I've checked on there regarding the prices. But would like a more local (Calgary) solution.
