Default 2006 Porsche Cayman S vs. 2008 Porsche Cayman S

Does anyone have any experience with these cars? I put a deposit down on a 2008 Cayman S, but I saw a 2006 Cayman S for sale with low kilometers for $58,000 (about $25,000 less than what I'm paying) and I have no problem going used assuming it's reliable

    Anyone on here driven/owned one?

No big differences between those two years. The big changes come for MY2010. If the used one has the items you are looking for, then that is not a bad idea. It should be reliable though just make sure all the service is documented for peace of mind.

I wasn't able to get the cash ready for it in time, and by the time I had it, the car had sold

That's okay, it was only a coupe.

Damn that's a pimping choice for a new ride. Love the Cayman S. C4S works at South Centre Porsche so maybe he'll reply since he's a Porsche fanatic. I don't think there are a lot of changes though.

I would take the 06, take the $25K to get some winter tires, a nice set of 19's for summer, suspension, 3m etc.

Yea I'm leaning toward the '06. Going to give him a call tonight. Too bad it snowed- might not be ideal for a test drive.

Also, it's not being driven in winter. I can has a Saab for that

    No real difference.

2007 got tire pressure monitors as standard
2008 the 'ECO' button was changed to say 'A/C off'

    Cheers

just so you know, paying anything over 50K for an 06 Cayman S isnt a good deal. And buying an 08, when the new caymans come with more power, is just wrong.

YOU may get it for less than that. But the actual customer doesn't.
