DIY, Mounting it is VERY easy. I bought all my wallmounts from Costco they have a great product at a great price. As far as hiding wires, there's a few threads on here already. There's a few options:

Use a wire track where you hide the wires in a conduit outside the wall(can be painted etc.)

Use wall plates(monoprice.com) this is what I use you basically plus in your components into the wall which run through the walls to your televison.

Lastly you can just use a hole bit and simply run your wires the wall.

I DIY'd my TV on the wall, it was a friggin hassle but it looks great where it is situated. The only problem is that I have tonnes of wires to hide. (dreamcast, 360, wii, PS3, HD PVR)

It looks messy, ill post pics later lol.

well i dont have to worry about studs or anything as this is a big shelf built into the wall we bought a show home and the tv area is made for a 32" or 27' flat scrneen i got a 42" so only way to have a tv is walmount it then there are other shelves which i think i will use as my place to place the componentes and just drill holes in the cabinet to run the wire

love em smarthomes as ethernet cable is there

my question is can i plug my router in the basement where the modem will go and then plug a etheernet cable with a switch... so all my PS3 360 are wired?

What i did was got all my parts including the mount from monoprice.

I used a 2 gang recepticle, 1 side power, the other side a conduit to the bottom 1 gange recepticle.

All cabled go through the wall, and power it at tv height. As it is illegal to run the power cable thru a hole in the wall and then plug it in. (Same goes with no extension cords in the wall)

    At Standard plug level:

    Behind TV:

or just get a kit like this:

You would definatly need to know how to connect 3 wires (hot, neutral and ground) between the two recepticals of the Kit but for using the seperate components you would need to have some electrical know-how or an electrician come in for you.

    Bumping a old thread,

Im looking for a extendable wallmount for my 46" TV that allows me to pull it all the way off the wall and rotate 90 degrees.

Anyone have any experience with online website (Monoprice/onlybestrated) and can vouch for ability to fully turn a TV 90 degrees

While we're on an old thread, I need someone to help me out with some home networking planning. House is wired with Cat5, and we're about to develop the basement, so we need to get everything planned out before that happens. Any behonders willing to help me out?

'wtf im nameless' does home automation - his company is Technadian.

As for the wallmount - I have the same Kanto wallmount. It works extremely well. It was a heavy bitch to install though.

If you can make do with 80 degree pan, this mount from Costco is good. I've bought 2 and am very happy with them, and it's $60 cheaper than the FMX3:

It's on sale for $89.99 delivered to your door. Only took 3 to 4 days to arrive at my house. This model isn't carried in the store, or at least it wasn't when I was looking a couple of months ago.
