Spotted a silver Golf GTI on Macleod on Saturday... it wears some big wheels from VW and red calipers... its rear carries a "337" badge. What is it?

Its the 25th Anniv Euro GTI .. It came out mid-2002 and its basically the same car as the 20th Anniv North American GTI cept for colors, rims and prolly a couple minor things.

like prosh said above, its a 2002 1.8t GTI, with a few differences:
full votex body kit
single exhaust tip
recarro interior
aluminum dash
6 speed
audi TT brakes
BBS RC 18" wheels
GTI badge on front, 337 badge on back.
golf ball shift knob
1" lowered suspension
I think that about sums it up, yes its just like the current 20th AE GTI's except for different wheels, color and the headliner (grey in 337, black in 20th AE) and interior (black/silver recarro's in 20th AE, black/red recarro's in 337)
2 doors and 4 rings
Don't forget the blacked-out headlight surrounds, sunroof and ESP, Simon
Not too mention it looks waaaaay better in Black Magic Pearl than Silver!
edit: oh I almost forgot - It's got the Euro gauges too!!

I cant wait to see an R32... i doubt i ever will in canada at least
beacause of the limited quantity of R32's its not "worth" it to crash test them. because the "euro style" bumpers they are not up to snuff with canadian standards. but IMO they will travel across the border on private sales. they will find homes in canada...
Solid Gino......
in my opinion, the 1.8t 4motion is too slow. they'd need to put in the 225 hp 1.8t just to make it quick.Originally posted by m10-power

the average car buyer doesnt buy a car because its easy to mod, thats why they have to make a complete car off the lot thats quick and reliable.
sure i would love a 4-motion in my 1.8t because I modify mine to overcome the extra drivetrain loss of the quattro system, but most people dont.
oh, and you say it wouldnt stay 1.8 litres? Are you insinuating that you'd bore it out to 1.9 or 2.0? or get the 2.0 bolt on kit? because there are much more efficient ways of getting horsepower out of the 1.8t rather than boring it out for an extra .1 or .2 litres, and the 2.0 bolt on kit is many many thousands.

hahaha
www.vwturbo.com
that is my next car garanteed
fuck the power i dont care if it have a 1st gen beetle engine in it the looks on that car are amazing
The 337 also have body color matched mirrors, where as the 20th ani's are gloss black....both are smokin pimp
oh and im not sure about the 337's but the 20th's dont even have MFA, which is kinda lame( but its not the "top of the line" model, so i guess thats why......even my '87 GLI has MFA
