Hey Beyonders!

Need the amazing powers of Beyond voting to help out again!

Some of you may know, the University had a "contest" few weeks ago to name the new UofC search database system...I submitted a entry name "uSearch", thinking meh if somehow they pick mine...yay! If not, oh well...

Well totally forgot about this, but today I log-on to the library computer at the university, and off the home page see the "final round of voting"...so I remember and click the link...the top 6 finalists have been selected for final voting round! Low and behold, the first entry at the top of the list is mine! (uSearch)

It says ~300 entries were received, and if any people picked the same name and it wins voting, they get put in a random draw if that is the case...hopefully I was the only one to think of "uSearch" haha!


So long story short...asking for you to please help and vote, takes 5 seconds and NO form/registration required!

MultiSearch
PowerSearch
D.I.N.O. Search (Do It Now Once)
Argos (Argos was a giant with 100 eyes, allowing him to look many places at once)
Kaleidoscope (many sources becoming one vision)

I don't think you're going to need it. That name had to have been submitted more than once - it's sooo obvious.

Yeah, when I first saw the other names - I thought it was a joke??!

And if they received "nearly 300" entries and stuff like "Argos" made it to the "final 6"...imagine what the other ~290 entries were like?!?! lol.

I'm sorry to admit that I had to vote MultiSearch in order to endorse the multicultural aspect of the University (as well as those students suffering from Multiple Sclerosis). I also added an addendum requesting foot-washing stations in the library and computer labs.

What's sad is that whoever suggested Argos clearly didn't know their mythology. Argos is a city, Argus is the giant with one hunderd eyes, and also the name of an awesome Wishbone Ash album.
