$500 for an HDPVR with expandable storage... We'll see how many scholarships I get cause that's damn tempting.

I've been waiting for expandable storage for a long time, I'll probably pick one of these up.

Now that's the million-dollar question isn't it? I'd be interested to know the answer as well.

How much do you think they will give for me to trade in my Motorola 160GB PVR?

I want one that is expandable.

ya I have a almost new 160gb motorola one. I dont even care about the expandable storage cause I dont record movies, but not having a laggy pos would be nice.

Nothing, currently there is no trade in value for the Moto HDPVRs

As for the prices coming down? I don't think that will happen either.
If you bought the box from FS or BB or Visions you get a 1 year warranty

Buy the box from Shaw you get 3 years warranty.
So, Shaw will hold on to a few of them incase they have to switch them out. I don't see them having the urge to get rid of them any time soon.

The Aspen from what i know can support a SATA drive and will only work with that one serial number. So if you have a buddy with an Aspen you CAN NOT unplug your HD and take it to his house and plug it in.

I think the new Aspen can be good. I got a 250 gig and 500 gig HD just sitting here... Might just sell out my 4616 for one of these

For anyone interested the maximum size for an external hard drive you can hook up is 750GB.

I read an article yesterday that said they could take up to 1TB.

I hope you're right, but everything I've found so far has said 750GB. 1TB+ would be fantastic. You could just swap out multiple drives I suppose, giving you endless storage.

The model people are talking about in this thread is the Aspen. You have a Tahoe they are not the same thing... One is silver the other is black. So no you haven't had one for 5 months.

I wish, but the lag is not the Moto's fault instead it is the extremely shitty shaw software.

Just call them to bring one out or go into the shaw buildings. I've been told they have them in stock
