The car I had that was more well-known than I was:
Props to BerserkerCarSplat for the pics. Remember, this was the car that refused to play the Star Wars Episode 1 OST CD? Good times!
Maybe I'll see you guys out at the cruise this weekend... it's been too long since I've been out. I should build another car.

That supra wasn't that long ago. That was at least 06/07. That was when I had my EG.

I can't believe I'm driving Ferraris in those vids. I'd never be caught dead in one now.

Heres my old car. '93 Mx6.

Yep, it wasn't that long ago, but it is definitely the car I am most well-known for. Either that or my two smart cars. Unfortunately, I have no pics of the first time I went to a beyond meet at chinook in 03 in my red EK hatch, lowered on Konig Traffiks, black-housed projector lens headlights with a proper HID kit, a big Silent Rage sticker across the bottom of the windshield. In fact, my EK was at the Silent Rage grand opening, and IIRC, Rage had his 944 there as well.Originally posted by LilDrunkenSmurf

Rage probably still remembers my first car.. an S12 200SX that I used in Solo2 and TSD rallying. And... I will agree that when Rage and I raced against each other using his CLK that he would have beat me on his last run... shame he hit a cone!
I still remember writing rude things on the back window of your EG hatch with electrical tape when you had it at D2P (either in the Olympic Oval or the one up in Edmonton, I can't remember exactly but I think it was in Calgary). I do believe that we wrote "BONER BOI" on it after you volunteered for the lap dancing competiton at that show. I don't mean to troll for years and then rag on you, but you gotta agree that show was a helluva lot of fun.

haha fuck, still remember that. And I was PISSED I just nicked the cone and it toppled. It should've stayed standing! I can't believe how hardcore I used to be. I'd spend 2 nights at lapping days tweaking the suspension setup on the SLK (not CLK), tweaking tire pressures, GPS data aquisition to correlate setup changes, IR temp sensors for tires... all to get the perfect 4 runs with no margin for error at AutoX. I'm surprised I was able to push that little roadster that hard. That car really shouldn't have been competitive at all lol.Originally posted by jibber

Looking back, my biggest question is, what happened to all my free time?

OTOH, I was surprised how competitive you car was! It was way faster than I thought it was going to be. I figured it would be like driving a comfy couch around the track compared to some of the other cars because it just looked so bone stock. Just look at what I was able to do in Kenny's SLK32 AMG after I beat you in your own car... I managed to get the 2nd fastest time of anyone in any class that night, and that was with a passenger (small lady) and some of the times I beat were in purpose built Solo cars! The only time I didn't beat was that old Formula Ford with the ridiculously big wings on the front and top, running on slicks.Originally posted by rage2

Sorry I called it a CLK. My memory must not be sharp this morning as I want it to be.

Funny how people in here are poking fun at what was considered cool 10 years ago whether someone else was doing it or even themselves. Fast forward ten years and you'll all look back on the yellow head lights, smoked lenses, whacked out off-camber tires as being so laughable.

Every generation has what it thinks is cool - I can remember the jacked up muscle cars of the 70's

or the farm boys who all had to have their home-made bug deflectors on their trucks in the early 80's, like this but even worse

Yupp, pretty much everyone in southern Alberta had to have one of those big rig type of bug deflectors on their truck (and sometimes cars too) and this included the cool kids who had the fancy colors or metal trimmed ones

Fads come and go and every generation will look back in amusement at what they once thought was so cool - smoked signals, stretched tires, yupp it'll look ridiculous to many at some point in the future.
Thanks man, I was looking for a picture of my old car.Originally posted by AutodreamMarvin
Anyone remember this car? First known ZC AND B16 swap in Calgary.
For sale too. $5500 WITH a vortech supercharger!
This was when Tony and Tu were still in business together, and YOKO was the ONLY source for JDM engines.
I wonder if anyone has a pic of Tony's old pink EF. Did a 96 spec type-R swap on that car when the LS/VTEC took a crap. Last I saw of it, it had a USDM front end on it. [/B]
Yeah. I was asleep in Gord's M5, because he had tint on all his windows. That was up in Edmonton that year. Same time that Kris got banned because he badmouthed DTP for not giving him a trophy for being the only Subaru.Originally posted by jibber

haha how this car has changed....
Whenever I get nostalgic for this era of vehicle style, I head to the NE. 2001 is still alive and well with buzz bomb exhausts, clear tails, underglow etc.
