Honestly, the only thing domestic automakers have been getting right the last 10 years is their trucks and SUVs. My dad and I are looking at buying matching GMC Yukons, actually (him an 08/09XL and me an 07). It will be his 6th GMC truck in a row because each one has run like a top.

BTW as a current Nissan owner I wouldn't buy another new Nissan until they get their shit together, GT-R included.

My Titan has been good to me (the Armada/QX56/Titan are of the same family). However, I am aware of issues with earlier MYs with regards to the diff and brakes. Beyond that, i wouldn't look at most of Nissans current lineup

I'm not a fan of the Toyota Tundra/Sequoia - purely from an ergonomics standpoint. The dash is just way too over the place for me.

I am a fan of the ford's and GM interior styling compared to Toyota.

    Sequoia

    Armada

    QX56

    Denali

    Ford Expedition

The Sequoia's controls seem unreachable to me IMO. Maybe I should sit in one and try it out but it just gives me that feeling.

The Expedition and the QX looks like they have nice interiors.

if you have the money, get the Lexus. hands down. best resale of all the suv's, nicest interior, most options, and the quickest engine if it has the Toyota 5.7L.
if you can't afford it, go domestic, and get a used Denali. You realize buying one will make you lose like 5 grand when you drive it off the lot.

I have a Sequoia, and they are excellent vehicles. I would pick it easily over the Armada. The Infinity is just a rebadged Armada. The Lexus is definitely a great truck though, and if you can afford it that would probably be my 1st choice, with Sequoia being 2nd.

I just don't trust Nissan quality to be honest. Though the titan/Armada has proven to be fairly reliable for the most part, the fact their brakes wear our VEEEEERRRYY quickly is unnerving, if nothing else.

the point is, its much worse than buying an import, unfortunately. but the domestic's lower price tag offsets that somewhat

Have you considered the Chevy Traverse/GMC Acadia/Saturn Outlook/Buick Enclave? They're quite big but still fuel efficient as well. I have a 2008 Outlook and have enjoyed it the last 9 months. The 2009 models have a slight power increase.

Im a GM Fan, so of course Im going to say:

    Cadillac Escalade
    GMC Yukon Denali

I know you said you dont like domestics, but atleast go check out one of these two. The 6.0 V8 in these is so sweet.

It's now a 6.2l. I love my denali, by far the best truck I have ever owned pretty decent on gas as well. Lots of jam on the highway with the new 6 speed tranny.

If you're willing to shell out the extra cash then I'd say, LX570 then 2nd choice would be Sequoia.

The LX's are so nice and smooth with some amazing standard features. There is generally a little bit of a wait for them however. I'm not sure how many used ones are out on the market right now but we do have an 08 demo, fully loaded that you could probably get a good price on if you don't mind the golden almond color. I've driven pretty much everyfull size SUV on a tast track and offroad course. The LX, GL, and the X5 4.4 were by far the best out of all the vehicles tested. The Infiniti felt like a domestic, the fit and finish and the ride just isn't worth the asking price. The Escalades and Navigators creaked and made off noises while going throug the offroad course. I felt like I was driving a school bus. I absolutely loved the GL just because of the firmer suspension and the modern interior.
Looking for a new VW? How about a used vehicle? We are Central Albertas #1 source for pre-owned vehicles
