My understanding is that the "facility" is often a 3rd world country. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Pop bottles are washed and reused. Same with milk jugs. The milk cartons are broken down and made into new milk cartons. Glass is melted down and remade.
That, engine oil and metal recycling are the only things that are truly recycled. Paper to a certain extent but there's so much used paper now that most of it should just be put into the green bin and composted.
'Skip The Depot' people.
Download the app, collect your bottles, setup a pickup day, throw them at the side of the house and they take care of the rest. They take a cut and load your account with the rest. When you have over $25 you can deposit your money in your bank account.
Haven't stepped in a fucking bottle depot in over a year.
I still maintain my stance of “why”
Do we really think if it wasn’t for 5 cents a bottle you get by bringing a dripping back to a depot people would pivot back to tossing bottles in black bins and garbage cans instead of recycling?
My bet. Every person who current recycled continues to do so using public bins or their own blue bins. And those that dgaf and just toss them in the trash continues doing so. 0 net effect on a he environment. And we can stop pretending deposits aren’t a hidden tax with an expected amount of attrition.
Parents could just fund their daughters soccer teams themselves with the money saved on deposits up front.

There is no need for the deposit system anymore. Probably in another 50 years it'll be removed.

Also, when did you steal my "3-wheeled skateboard" reference? I only just noticed that today.
I've had that for a while. I only steal from the best.
