    Default Property Tax Assessment

we just moved into our new home that was built in Nov and we recieved our property tax assessment showing that they assesed our home in July of 2007 my question is the house wasnt even there to begin with and now almost a yr and half later this property is not worth the value shown so do I have a good chance in filing a complaint and succeeding at lowering my property taxes?

I think EVERYONE has higher assessments than their place is worth in this market.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

Property tax is based on the value of your home...
Me, I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for. Because you can never predict when their going to do something incredibly stupid.

Yes, then what? Are you going to sell it now? Or, is it below your purchase value?
If not, the price will probably be recovered later on.
What happen is you need to pay less property tax now(with an increased rate).
