    Default Remote Connection

    Happy new year everyone

I have a question on Remote Connection.

I have Vista Ultimate and i want to connect to my cousin's computer in Toronto that has XP Pro. Can it be done? What program do i use? His computer is really slow, i thought i would download some some antivirus software and tweak it up for him.

Both of you should download Teamviewer. Free for personal use.

once that is done, its a click click affair to connect. Neither of you have to mess around with firewalls or anything.

START>RUN and type MSTSC and press enter

type the IP of the user on the other side, and assuming his router is setup correctly, you can connect (with a username and password that he has) and whola.

Windows has build in remote desktop connection

Windows has a remote assistance feature built-in, which may be the easiest way. Here's a step-by-step guide: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb457004.aspx

For most modern firewalls and routers you will not have to change any settings. Usually starting the connection through MSN messenger is easiest.
