Maybe this is just me, but I value technical competency far higher than the garbage on that test.
Hard to say what effect the 65% pass has, they don’t disclose your score on the exam. Maybe you didn’t do as well on it as you think you did lol

Public safety >> everything and this test is supposed to be examining your ability to prioritize that safety as paramount among other key values that a professional shall hold. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm not arguing with you, so don't get me wrong. The test is shit and if you can't calculate the stress for shell thickness in a pressure vessel, then you shouldn't be doing it. But, in theory, of you're shitty at wall thickness calc's but you understand the fundamentals of professional practice and have some ethics, you're going to step away from that calc same find someone who knows what the fuck they're doing before you get pressured into stamping something with negligence.
Yea and in the same breath the test will grade you on making sure you don’t rat out other professional members like we are some kind of ass covering union or something.
APEGA doesn’t gaf about anything but their dues, that and doing just a good enough job policing members that the province doesn’t take over.

What's this about not ratting out? Maybe I failed that part but my understanding is there is an obligation to rat out and another obligation to not talk shit about other members. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Unskilled practice needs to be reported to the association and not by complaining during lunch that Samir Nagheenanajar doesn't know a coupler from a Kotex.
I will have to find the question from one of the practice tests lol. It really rubbed me the wrong way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I can't recall any questions really picking my ass, but the ones where they take an easy question and attempt to make it hard with obscure English were dumb.
"Which of these shouldn't you not give a reverse order to not undo?"
"Don't do what Donnie Don't does."
LoL!!
Bump, has anyone got the NPPE Study material lying around?

I love how someone was able to turn the NPPE exam prep into a decent side business.
Good price point too because I am sure most are willing to spend that just to get it over in a day.
Yah seems weird to me. Didn't study and it wasn't hard. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The minimum pass should be 90%. It's ethics, not 3D heat transfer.
The passing rate at 65% on a multiple choice test with only 4 choices is appalling. Anyone who fails out should not be granted a re-write until they take a shitty expensive course and wait a full year.
Vote TPiM for Prez in 2026!
I was thinking of just winging it but it would be very embarrassing to fail.....
All the old study prep is gone and the recommended textbooks are $200 each. $500 for registration. $250 for the exam. It's a money grab now
Pay the $100 to get it over with and then be milked for membership fees for the rest of my working career

The whole organization exists purely as a money grab.
Change my mind.

The new standard on outsourcing work is abysmal. They completely fucked an opportunity to fix a massive issue.
Getting my professional designation changed things for sure. I have a lot less money every year now
