Hmm i don't think so, Mem Ex is Probably the best one in calgary
ncix.com,
newegg.ca,
tigerdirect.ca,
Besides Memoryexpress localy, I shop with NCIX.com. they're in the Vancouver area so you will pay shipping but no duties or brokerage fees like shopping in the US. Price wise they're similar, depending on parts either could have a better deal, but not by too much. Makes more sense to shop locally for small items (waste of shipping) and large/heavy items (too much for shipping)
NCIX has way more items in stock, carry a much larger array of items, execpt for memoryexpress's dive into HDTV's.
Edit: was bored and comparing memex and ncix on your items, memex is about $250 cheaper. kinda surprising it would be that much, unless they are slower to update pricing (bought stock when $can was better?)
ncix.com once in a while, but mostly memex. newegg.ca SUCKS. they still ship from the US, takes forever and their prices arent that great once you add shipping. ncix at least has a lot of free shipping deals.
I just had a drive fail, and it was 1 of only 2 that I did not buy from memex, had I gotten it from there with the IPR, I could have had a replacement in an hour.
I use pricecanada.com to find the lowest price for the product I want.
goto ncix.com and price match cuz they always have stock; and if i need anything locally ASAP then mem ex
I still shop at the evil empire... er memx. . The way the reps there push FRIES ... errr I mean IPR leaves a bit to be desired
Alternatives
These companies memx is religious about matching/beating prices:
ncix/directcanada/tddirect (all the same company)
bcom
computer rack
Not on their radar as frequently but good to know about:
canada computers
microbytes
directdial
For certain parts oemdepot seems to be cheaper than memory express. Especially items on their main pages. Sometimes it may be 5-10 dollars cheaper, but sometimes 50 bucks or so. Apparently memory express price matches too, but never tried it.
Yes, Memory Express price matches. Keep in mind they factor in the shipping and handling, which makes sense.
Just out of curiosity OP, why not Mem X?

Thanks guys. Nothing wrong with MemEx, just thought I would see if there was anyone else in town with great prices.
I use bytewyze.ca for screens, not sure if they carry anything else.

I haven't had any problems with newegg.ca. They have free shipping options as well as alot of the stuff they sell (i was looking at motherboards) are cheaper then memex, shipping is not that bad and their selection is MASSIVE compared to memex for cases and such. Mem ex has the shitties selection of HTPC cases known to manOriginally posted by GoChris

ncix has a package deal on the i7 and x58 right now.
thats the one i bought, its blazing fast in my opinion for a decent price.
Just FYI, you can order just about anything from MemX at no extra cost...Originally posted by eblend

ive always found ncix cheaper than memex. and NCIX's weekly sales always have good stuff. Memex never have any sales

Time is costly, the amount of time it can take their current special orders purchaser to locate things from outside their standard list of suppliers IIRC leaves a bit to be desired. I'm sure in time it will improve, but at the moment it's a hair pulling exercise.Originally posted by HyperZell

When i need things that I need them to buy, I will locate it at a distributor for them and then ask them to order it for me. I'm in a unique situation however, not everyone knows how the industry works.
As of a year ago, their goal was EDLP - Every Day Low Price vs. having 'regular priced' items that are discounted on certain days. I don't think that has changed. I prefer that since I only go buy things as I need them, not when they need me to buy things (sales).Originally posted by RiCE-DaDDy

It should be noted - I don't speak on behalf of memx as I am not currently affiliated with them. This is just observations on my part.
Memex regularly has ridiculous prices splashed on their front page. Picked up a Cannon Pixma printer for $39. 2x 2GB mem key, 2x 4GB SD card, USB Bluetooth dongle....basically for nothing.Originally posted by RiCE-DaDDy

In my experience, everytime I look at something to get the ncix price is cheaper. For example, I got a P182 case last week, ncix is 158 while memex is $175, pretty big difference.Originally posted by Godfuader

Another example, the new GTX 295 card is $650 at memex but only $600 at ncix.
I'm not saying memex isn't cheap, but they haven't given me reason to give them business since NCIX always happen to have the better price.
