There are the official in-ear ones from Apple that come with a remote with the functionality of the original ones that come with the iPhone.

those apple ones are good. but i updated to the bose in-ear headphones and love them. i think theyre $99.99 at futureshop and bose has a lifetime warranty on the sylicone ear peices that fit on them. all you gotta do is call and they ship you more free of cost

There are several better set of buds than the SE420s for 5 bills.

mix123, search. This question has been brought up many, many, many times before.

LOL I would like to hear them, I never have myself, but they seem to get good reviews (better for $500!) I thought also that some high end headphones use hearing-aid drivers in them too. The OP just seems to want to drop some cash on a wicked set of ear buds so I suggested those.

The reason why I would (and I think I am) get the Apple ones is because of the mic/remote. It's really handy being able to pick up calls like that, while controlling your music and everything.

I have the 310's and the sound is phenomenal. I just can't justify dropping too much more coin on them. The best everyday IEMs would probs be the 530PTH+iPhone adapter. It might be somewhere in the range of 700... Not cheap but they will sound really good. To be honest, you will be happy with the Shure SE210's. I used to have a pair and they aren't much below the 310s I use now. They were only $99 a while back at FS, but then you have to add the iPhone Mic attachment which adds a fair amount to the price.

    Check out UE

I got the Super.fi 5 Pro and it's sweet. I use it with my iPhone all the time and I don't mind not having the button. To be honest I've never used the original earphones that came with the iPhone.
There's a few pairs (vi models) with a iPhone button.

I never knew Logitech bought out UE...

I have a pair of V-Moda vibe duo's (mic / remote control for answering calls and pause/play and fastforwarding music). It's pretty good, sound quality is decent, and the button/mic works fine.

I've only had it about a month and no problems so far, but a lot of people are complaining that they absolutely suck in terms durability. Half the reviews on amazon talk about how they had to get theirs repaired or replaced under warranty several times.

    I also have a pair of Shure's E4G:

It isn't really all that convenient for the iPhone since theres no mic / music control button, but the sound isolation as well as the quality is top notch. The V-Moda's don't even compare.

I had a set of Vmoda vibes, sound was rad, good sound isolation, but only lasted for 4 months before one kicked it.

I have terrible luck with headphones though, in the last year I've killed 2 skullcandies, 1 sony, 1 stock ipod headphones. All I have left are some Phillips I picked up for $14 in Bangkok. The surprisingly are the most durable and have very decent sound, but I hate the in-ear style these days.

I picked these up a couple days ago

i have the etymotic Hf2, they're about the same as etymotic's flagship set but have the iphone mic/remote on the cable.

they're around $200 or so. and the $500 ones aren't better.

and bose is for suckers, along with monster cable.

Hmm, thanks for the tip dude. You can brand new ones for about $120 US on eBay with shipping. Definitely looks like the best value in terms of quality and iPhone compatibility right now.

should probably mention, the etymotics go for accuracy, not big bass. some listeners may not like that. it'll give you a clean, unmolested version of the mix. the good thing is you can eq it if you need to, but you'll always have an accurate reference without the eq.
