    Default Copying and burning DVDs

    Hey guys,

I have some old school home movies I'd like to make a copy of before the disc gets scratched to shit, but I have no idea what program to use.

    Please help.

    Thanks

    go to http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
download and install DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.2.3.0 (January 9, 2009)
this program copy's the data from the DVD disk to your hard drive, removing protection and region codes, etc

there are 2 types of DVD's: single layer (~4.8GB) OR Dual layer movies (~9GB). If your copying dual layer movie, you need a dual layer blank DVD to burn it on or the data won't fit. If you don't have a dual layer DVD handy, you can burn the Dual layer movie onto a Single layer DVD by compressing (shrinking) the movie to fit on the smaller sized media. To compress the movie, use DVD shrink. Go here: http://www.dvdshrink.org/ you wont find the program on the site, but there are links somewhere for a download.

once that is done, then burn the movie using Nero or Img burn. with nero I use nero Burning ROM, NOT nero start smart. select DVD video, and then find the folder on your hard drive with the movie data, drag and drop it into the DVD burn section and select Burn.

Send me a PM with your email and ill email you a PDF file showing you exactly what to do with screenshots. its only about 1.5MB.

    Install AnyDVD, run it.
Install CloneDVD2 run it, follow wizard.. Done.

anydvd allows you to get past the encryption on the dvd's, and then CloneDVD2 is the program to grab the data from the DVD, and recode it so that it fits on a single layer dvd.

Pretty easy, next next next thing.

Plus CloneDVD2 also writes the dvd for you.

hey guys thanks for all the help, trliniar gave me a pretty good walkthrough on how do burn dvds and all.

just 1 more question, if i put multiple movies onto one disc, does it automatically set up a menu to choose which one you want to watch or do you have to manually do that? If so, how?
