More orgasms for women with wealthy partners

Women receive more pleasure from making love to a man with a bigger bank balance, according to a new UK study that argues the richer he is, the more often she orgasms.
Newcastle University psychologist Dr Thomas Pollet said to the Times Online that “Women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner.”
Dr Pollet believes that the results suggest, from an evolutionary psychology perspective, that women have strong genetic programming to be gold diggers that drives them to select mates based on their perceived quality.
Evolutionary psychology theory suggests men and women’s behaviour is learned and encoded from ancient times, with an emphasis on Darwinian selection at the gene level in order to ensure species survival - as Richard Dawkins further argued in The Selfish Gene.
Scientists find the female orgasm fascinating for many reasons, but particularly because it serves no reproductive purpose; women can become pregnant whether they orgasm or not.
However, Dr Pollet and his co-author Professor Daniel Nettle believe female orgasm is an evolutionary adaptation that drives women to select high-quality partners.
The two men tested their hypothesis using data from 5,000 Chinese people, and found that while many there were many factors at play in how many orgasms a woman was given by her partner, money was one of the main ones.
“Increasing partner income had a highly positive effect on women’s self-reported frequency of orgasm. More desirable mates cause women to experience more orgasms”, said Dr Pollet to the Times Online.
Research in America and Germany has confirmed that body symmetry and attractiveness are also linked with orgasm frequency – but money seems even more important.
