Default Pakistans huge illegal gun market

10 Minute video from a guy who went in and recorded everything. Pretty badass video, shows people making guns with their bare hands. Guy thinks that they are supplying guns to the Taliban?

I wonder if all those guns actually shoot like the originals?

It's pretty crazy how they make all that stuff though.

The ammunition used in the region is often underloaded, being made from a variety of powders or even old film (which contains nitrocellulose, a key component of smokeless powder)- and as such, Khyber Pass Copy rifles cannot generally stand up to the pressures generated by modern commercial ammunition. In short, it is generally advised that they not be fired under any circumstances, although there are a few collectors out there who have made extremely mild handloaded cartridges for their Khyber Pass rifles. This practice is NOT recommended, and anyone firing a Khyber Pass rifle is doing so at substantial personal risk.

It's only a valid question if one believes in the imaginary colonial lines that separate "Afghanistan" from "Pakistan".

If you happen to be one of the 40 million Pashtun that straddle both borders, many of whom are "Taliban", the answer is a resounding, self-evident, yes.

Ah, the video isn't clear on that. Thank you

This is from a movie called 'Vice Guide to Travel' and has a bunch of other clips on different topics, one was on the favelas (SP?) of Rio and the Baile Funk parties where gangs go to fight each other.

Agreed. To me it seems all legit. If we can own guns, so can they. If we can make guns, so can they. If we can shoot guns, so can they.

Also this may be the reason why the US can't do anything against the Taliban since they have a constant supply of weapons and also why the US is now sending drones into those parts and bombing the area.

I roll a lot of my own ammo. As with pretty much any reloader, I check everything over and over, religiously zero my scales and measure at random intervals, constantly check powder flow, etc.
I take all these redundant precautions because I know what I'm dealing with. Even still, when I load up a new powder or weight, I'm always a bit apprehensive when I'm standing on the firing line. Can't help but have thoughts..."Am I sure I checked the volume/weight charts properly. Am I sure I used the correct weight for this powder. Am I sure my seating depth is accurate, etc etc."

That said, I just wouldn't have the stones to shoot a gun that some dirt farmer forged, in a cave, using a rock and old soup cans. The upside to this is that the "enemies" weapons are horribly crappy, inaccurate pieces of shit that are almost as likely to blow up in the users hands as they are to reach a target 75m away.
