Contemporary Coachworks is one of the most expensive shops in Calgary, go in and see what they work on. They do brand new cars off the truck when being driven here before they hit the dealership, the work there is immaculate.
Not that i'm saying Screamin' Paintworks isn't. I'm just letting you know.
New fender + paint?
thats all it looks like - 800 sounds more like it- Good job shopping around

You will be happy with screamin. Thats my favorite body shop.
Shop that don't need work will quote high and rather deal with insurance.
Shop that do need work will quote low to get your business.
Simple as that.
What that pic doesn't show is any damage to the bumper and the parts underneath it.
I'd assume the back of the bumper there bent inwards during the incident, and you have many plactic clips that shattered in the wheel well / bumper area.
I could believe two grand.

My car was fixed by Distinctive, the authorized Merc body shop. Still the silver came out off compare to original factory.
MyCivic was backed into and I need a new mirror and a dent removed. I went to Crowfoot Honda and they gave me an estimate for $1250, and Contemporary Coachworks gave me an estimate for $2400...
I am sure their work is immaculate, but I don't know about charging twice as much as a dealership....
like i have said before, contemporary coach will anally fuck you until you bleed money. I had a quote for 3000 from a body shop and over 6000 from contemporary. If your doing it on your own i would go screamin' but if its insurance either will do a great job except contemporary will clean you out while they do it.
Also.. WTF 25/quote.. i had many done there at no charge...

thats why you see cars that have panels that look like they are different shades/colors
to properly repair that, the hood, drivers door and possibly a-pillar need to be painted/blended. thats where the $2000 bucks (a bit high imo) comes in
thats exactly what i am saying above.Originally posted by Xtrema

if they had done a proper blending job your eyes would not be able to tell, even though the colors would be slightly different

Plastic clips don't help justify a $1200 increase
legend boy - your right about the bumper/hood/fender blending - that will make it a $2000 jobOriginally posted by gretz
