    Default Penn West safety orientation

I'm just wondering if there's any guys online that have a copy of the cheat sheet for it?

I know lots of the guys here work in the oilfield and anyone who's worked for Penn West needs this new orientation.

Our safety guy has a copy that he kept handing out, but it seems to have vanished and he's out of town right now.

    Thanks guys

You shouldn't need a cheat sheet for it. When you go out on one of their locations they will hand you a booklet, you sign the back page and hand it back. It is pretty much the same for every company out there. If there are questions that you have to answer all you have to do is skim back threw the book.

I haven't done that specific orientation, but if it's anything like the one used by the majority of oilpatch operators and you can't pass it without a cheat sheet, then I'd assume you also have trouble tying your shoes and spelling your own name?

If it is actually difficult, just take the time to learn the material. It's your ass they are trying to keep safe.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

haha jhnboy is correct, they are pretty slack. it's mostly common sense/regular field rules.
don't speed on any of there "pasture" roads, they get pretty mad.

Penn West used to be like that, this year they changed it. It takes 3 hours to do it and your MUST go through the entire thing or else you dont pass. it's an online video/test and you print the certificate.

I just don't feel like watching through the entire video and answering all the penn west based questions.

Well it sounds like if you get hired you will be a "top notch" employee. How much is this job supposed to pay? Maybe I will try for it.

I have my confined space, h2s alive, fall arrest, WHMIS, first aid, csts, psts and am also orientated with atleast 30 different companies out in the patch (aswell as Penn West's old orientation). I know the material and have gone over it 100 times. I also have to do a safety meeting daily with my guys.

It has nothing to do with me not knowing it, it has to do with me not having 3 hours of my life to give up to this orientation. It's such an inconvenience that most of the PW consultants I've spoken to haven't even done it yet.

For the record I'm not a PW employee, I'm district manager for a pipeline company.
