Calgary Police rant

I wasn't going to mention this but I figured, why the hell not.

At the end of each month during the morning rush hour traffic, the calgary city police think its a good idea to setup a speed trap just before the center street bridge going into downtown. There are 3 lanes of traffic pretty much bumper to bumper heading into downtown. Why do these idiots think its a good idea to pull people over in the moring during rush hour? Like WTF?

You think they would have something better to do then causing traffice congestion. To top it all off, they had two officers at the bottom of the bridge flagging other vehicles over that were missed because the driver either ignored or didn't see the top two officers trying to flag them down.

If it was traffic cops, well they pretty much do their own thing... but if it was regular members, its probably a PR move to get noticed.

I saw that two days ago and thought they were pulling people over for not having enough people in the car and driving in the carpool lane. I guess that's the best place to ticket people for that because you can't use the excuse that you're going to turn at the next intersection since it's the beginning of bridge. Also, if my assumption is correct, they can only do that when the carpool lanes are in effect. There are too many people abusing the carpool lane.

They would always sit on that first street after the bridge going north as well.. It's all about the money.. But people are stupid enough to speed through there so I'd say they deserve the tickets.

They were everywhere yesterday. I know a few police, they expressed "it takes a special kind of asshole to work traffic"... typically the kid that got picked on kinda guy goes into traffic... major control issues under the guise of being concerned for public safety.

Actually, the people who direct traffic, the cops who do it get paid a premium for what they do because of the danger involved in the work

you know whats even worse?? these new british cops, they seem to take it to heart to find something wrong at months end, i've been pulled over twice this week by 2 british cops, once for modified exhaust(which i'm ashamed of on my winter beater teg, it came with it) and the other for a burnt out tail light,

i didnt get ticketed tho lol, seems like these cops are pretty fair and just want someone to talk to or something, i shot the shit with the both of them and they let me off with 'warnings', basically 'I dont want to see you next time without that fixed, ok lad', the first one from Scotland i asked 'so how do you like it here' (this was on Hwy 1, just before Calaway Park) 'Its beautiful, big mountains, big roads, big trucks *looks back at his F150 ghost truck and smirks*'.
