Angry Weird: Missing wallet, contents returned...

I went to the vet in Didsbury to get my dog some shots on the 23rd, on the way home I stopped at A&W in Airdrie.

The next morning I could not find my wallet anywhere...
Spent a few days re-tracing my steps, calling the last places I went when I had my wallet, no luck.
Spent hours searching through the car, looked everywhere in the house... I think I actually LOST my wallet!

Cleaning up the dog shit in the backyard today..
Open the lid to the garbage box, there is a baggy inside...

That contains [most] of the contents from my wallet, minus my birth certificate, and a single $20 bill.

All of these cards were in individual slots, and privacy style removable card holder.
Someone went through everything, and put these cards/receipts in the baggy, and put it in the trash box out back...

I just found it in the garbage 25 minutes ago.

Now I really wish I had just LOST it!
Who the fuck returns the contents of a wallet, to the inside of a garbage box outside of the owners address?

Is there anything special some thief can do with my birth certificate? Its only been 7 day's so far. I've already called all the companies associated with my cards, and calling the police now. Since I know for sure the info was compromised.

I'm amused by the simplicity of this game. Bring me your finest meats and cheeses.

sorry, can you post a better picture of your credit card? I'm having a hard time reading it ...

Seriously though, thats kind of creepy that they drove to your house and put it in your garbage.

Do you keep your SIN in your wallet as well? With your birth certificate, they might be able to apply for more identification/credit in your name, seeing as how they have your DL #, address, credit card numbers, etc.

I would highly recommend putting a fraud alert on your file with TransUnion and Equifax so that if anyone (including yourself) applies for credit, the company who's thinking of issuing you credit will contact you to confirm that you really are opening an account. The red flag on your account should be good for 5-7 years. http://www.transunion.ca/ca/personal...ytheft_en.page

He's got half the numbers covered on each one.

Ya, they can make a new identification card with your birth certificate, I had to go through it last year after losing mine. Make sure your credit doesn't change, go to Equifax.ca in a few months to check it.

LOL, if someone wants the cards give me a call and you can have them. A canceled card will not do you much good to anyone. Why did I blur them? Because I was already blurring my drivers license # and I do not want a million re-heats on Beyond trying to order some shit to their house with my canceled cards lol.

Yes, they seen my SIN, but it was returned. They just kept my birth certificate.
Thanks for the info! I will be calling them both.

It doesn't matter if they kept your card or not, as long as they have the #. They could apply for credit cards and jobs in your name and you may be on the hook for additonal taxes when you file your return every year if they do so. Your personal information has definitely been compromised. http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/s.../protect.shtml

Be sure to get a case # from the cops/rcmp just in case identity theft happens in the future.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so weird...normal to me. someone found your wallet and usually they will say "I found your wallet, but the money was gone..." but instead this guy decided to just leave it where you'd find it without talking to you.

Or wouldn't find it, I'd never find something that was in my trash. I just open, throw and go.
