    Default E36 325is, S52 Swap

Just curious to what this costs for the labour alone would be for this operation.
the s52 would be installed with all accessories ( Clutch, Flywheel waterpump, alternator, power steering pump, ect...)

ide just buy an M3... the work and labor isnt enough to justify the cost. its still a 325.

if ur looking for cheaper insurance just get a 328... do some mods to it and itll be just slightly quicker than the M3 with all the bolt on mods including eurosport cam kit, 3.38 LSD, and a light weight flywheel!

Couldn't be further from the truth.
I am in the process of purchasing a 325is (150,000kms) for 8k, then with the s52 (100,000 kms) with clutch and accessories being shipped to calgary for 3k. Install and other upgrades such as brakes net me at ~ 13,500 whilst paying for 325is insurance.
Besides, M3s are impossible to locate here in canada, and importing from the u.s comes with its own hosts of auxiliary costs.

i would buy in the states. The process is annoying to import and time consuming and a bit frustrating but i can imagine doing a swap would be more work and effort and possibly money.

Just wait until our dollar picks up some steam, great deals are to be had down south. Like mentioned earlier, you can do the swap but you will still have a 325is, might as well get the real thing and get all the upgrades and not just the motor.

Makes sense, but definatley not while our dollar is at its current value, and it really sucks paying for a bunch of artificial fees for just crossing the border.

I dont about having an M or not, just want more power.

    So you're saying, a stock 325is (92-98), + 2grand = faster than an e46m3? riiiiight.

Using cheapo used turbo parts that will most likely fail?

How will you get all that power down without just spinning one wheel?

    Show me some numbers, kits....

    I knew I wasn't being skeptical, it's not possible.
