That is absolutley true. I've been to europe and have first hand experience.

I think that the guy should have focused on one thing he said more.....respect. Calgary drivers have no respect. You put your signal light on and they speed up. They actually try and block you in if they see you in a rush. Everybody's been in a rush before so why not just let them pass? Common cortesy people!!!

I think Calgary should have a rule of slower traffic keep right on major roads (3 lanes) like deerfoot and crowchild even for emergency purposes. What if the guy trying to get by needs to get to the hospital down crowchild but you decide to slow down and box him in because he's "tailgating" you. If there is noone around you just move over to the middle.

I was watching a documentary about Russia...apparently the wealthy can purchase "blue lights" that give them the right of way no matter what (just like police sirens) and they can even go in opposing traffic lanes if they don't want to wait in rush hour!

Oh ya, and those damn schools that teach you to slam on your brakes if someone is tailgating you? WTF? Aren't they supposed to teach you to drive defensively to PREVENT accidents not cause them.

And those people that slam on their brakes because the think you're tailgating them. Then, when you pull up beside them, they won't even look at you.

If you're going to act tuff go all the way.

I get this alot because my car is slammed and it seems that I'm tailgaiting when I'm not. Especially behind those 400ft high SUVs.

they dont just get blue lights, they get a police motorcycle escort. its fucking nuts. And its ALWAYS a black merc. G-class (a fuck load more expensive in europe than here). And its soo funny cause you know its the mafia, but the police are helping them get around. Major morality and coruption issues there i tell you what.

Exactly, when I came to Canada I thought it would be 10000X better than the U.K. in everyway, especially the driving. But I was so wrong. Most drivers in Calgary are absolutely horrible at driving, one way or the other they are doing something wrong. Europe may have good drivers, but if you lived there for a while, you would find out that there are some nutcases on the road too, but NOTHING compared to Calgary. My dad thought driving would be more relaxing here, compared to Birmingham, because its always busy and the roads are jam packed 24/7. We were right on that because its not always packed but the stupidity of the drivers makes it worse. I think EVERYONE should take driving classes here just like Europe. If the driving schools were more stick here and it was mandatory Calgary would be a lot better....
