    Default Dumb Ticket

A friend of mine with an Acura 1.7EL ran into the back of an SUV today due to emergency braking in the front. The dumb part was, he got a ticket for something like "Driving with undue care" or something like that. Does anyone of you know what the best way to fight a ticket like that?

Driving without undue care and attention. I know someone that got a ticket for that too when he rear ended someone (a cherokee under hard braking on crowchild 80km/h --> 0 without warning). Call pointts for free advice or get your friend to take it down to the crown prosector and plead his case.

Did your friend appeal his ticket?

I believe he did but I am not 100% sure. Seems like an easy ticket to fight.

I s'pose it shouldn't be that hard. Since the police wasn't even there when it happened.

Have your friend fax a photocopy of the ticket to 269-6410
(local) attn: Charles Pester along with a phone number for him to call back. Charlie will call back the next day with *free* advice, how much it'll cost if you want him to fight it for you, and sometimes he'll even tell you the chance of success if your friend decides to fight it.

It's not hard at all to get an undue care and attention ticket changed. I had one and got it reduced to an invalid lane change and I was completely at fault. $60 and 2 demerits or something.

That sounds like overkill, I rear ended someone once like that but got Following too Close which I tried to fight but to no avail.

Better do it because Undue Care will increase your insurance by at least 40%.

Following too close and the like causes some really high percentage of accidents.
IMHO almost anyone that rear-ends someone deserves a ticket at least. Everyone follows too close and there's no reason to. You end up getting to the light at the same time.

Just leave enough space based on conditions, speed, your car, and how much attention you're paying to the road.
    Shut up and race!

she says I was driving abnoxiously distracting drivers, and swerving in and out of my lane all over the place which was bullshit, sure I was honking my horn, but I wasn't all over the road...

I'm pretty pissed off about it...she was mean about it too...wouldn't hear me out. christ, its not like I was damaging stuff, speeding or drunk! Next time I see her I'm Laying on the Horn.
