Vista vs. XP + Freezing

Hello all:

I have Vista currently installed on a laptop of mine, as well as MS Office 2007.
I keep having a problem where Office will always freeze when I try to open a document.
I have tried to uninstall then reinstall, and no dice.

I googled this, and it looks as though a few other people are having the same issue, but I was unable to find any resolutions.

What are your thoughts?

Would you recommend getting rid of Vista all together and just installing XP?

i had issues with mine stalling because of an acrobat plugin...do you have acrobat or acrobat professional installed?

Go to contol panel/add remove programes/click on Office 2007 and hit repair.

I have VISTA Business and Office 2007 on one computer and it's never frozen same with my XP machines.

Does it freeze on everything you try and open?

What are laptop specs?

I have 2007 running on an old Celeron. It's slow as shit but hasn't had any problems.
